Advertising & Partnerships Manager – Pedestrian Trades

As an Advertising and Partnerships Manager, you’ll be part of the Pedestrian Group Sales Department and also… Mumbrella’s Sales Team of the Year! You will be responsible for driving revenue from agencies and key clients for all Pedestrian Group products and titles. You will also have a great time working with a team of legends who support you and work daily to create a workplace that is hungry, fearless, real (these are our company values) and above all fun!

The role works across all of our brands – including Pedestrian.TV, Vice, Refinery29, Business Insider, Openair Cinema, Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Kotaku. The role requires a multidisciplinary approach, someone who can collaborate effectively with internal departments and build best in class relationships with agency partners and clients. The role is a creative sales role that will see you working through all stages of the sales cycle, from brief extraction, ideation to negotiation, closing and realizing our award-winning ideas.

We are looking for an enterprising individual who is unafraid to pursue new business and build relationships from scratch while having the ability to nurture and grow existing clients.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Achieve quarterly goals. (And make a sweet errand doing it!)
  • 8 meetings with clients per week to discover new opportunities and/or stimulate commercial production.
  • Track and manage your own pipeline and account activities in ADvendio (our CRM) with 100% accuracy.
  • Find, close and grow new and existing business across all properties to consistently meet and exceed sales budgets.
  • Build an intimate understanding of the pedestrian group’s offerings/products and their place in the industry.
  • Pre-existing relationships and ability to build relationships with clients at all levels. (Customers have to like you.)
  • Create leading pitches on all pedestrian platforms (Native, Video, Podcast, Events, Activations, etc.). With this, you need to understand the client’s goals and translate them into campaigns that deliver results.
  • Build complete client proposals, including copywriting, ideas, and ultimately storytelling. (We have a full team to help you with that!)
  • Must enjoy daily memes and lols. Its very important.

  • Outgoing and adept at creating professional relationships. Contacts advertisers both at junior senior level.
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of online advertising processes and technology.
  • Active in trade and industry networking events.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to QA own work.
  • “Hunter mentality”, tenacity and ability to think on your feet.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented and dynamic environment.
  • Be aware of new trends in pop culture.
