The office of Dangote Cement Media, in a statement released on Saturday, alleged that more than 500 government militiamen invaded the Dangote cement factory located in Obajana on Wednesday “at the request of the state governor and shut down its operations. of strength”.

The statement revealed that cement trucks were also torched and many others were vandalized, “as they forcibly hijacked Dangote buses and vans. “

“As many as 27 Dangote employees are currently in poor condition after being shot by the invaders,” the company’s statement said.

Mr. Tijani Mukhtari, 45, who according to the statement was shot several times in the lower abdomen and other parts by the invaders, “is currently fighting for his life, as the health workers who were seen caring for him said he needed emergency surgery.”

This came as the Kogi state government said it uncovered plots by the Dangote group to launch attacks on government officials over the closure of the Obajana cement factory.

The state government, in a statement signed by its Information and Communications Commissioner, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said the government is in possession of a 28-minute WhatsApp call recording of Dangote Group’s plans. to erase documents containing agreements between the government and the company.

Fanwo described the plans as satanic resolutions made by company officials at a meeting they held on Friday evening.

He said some of Dangote’s alleged satanic plans include using the Department of State Security (DSS) and other security agencies to arrest senior government officials on frivolous charges; using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest some government officials to intimidate them and also using the media to promote lies against the government and people of Kogi State.

Fanwo revealed that company officials decided to file civil and criminal lawsuits against some government officials, block all major highways in the state with their trucks to prevent state governor Yahaya Bello from to leave the state capital.

The commissioner said, among other plans, that the Dangote group decided at the said meeting to publish a false allegation that the government officials who went to carry out the directive of the State House of Assembly took away 207 million of naira belonging to the company.
He said the 28-plus-minute taped meeting exemplified the mindset of an economic oppressor “who thinks he can use all the machinery of the federal government to fight our dear state into submission.

“We uncovered some Dangote Group plans during a meeting held last night to wreak havoc across the state as a counterattack against the state government’s decision to get its own capital legally backed by the company Obajana Cement. The latest strategy stems from the frustrations caused by the Dangote Group’s failure to misinform the general public and its shareholders while the state government has consistently and continuously presented the facts of the matter to the public.

“A senior member of Dangote Group mistakenly called a senior government official as said meeting was going on to formulate their satanic plans against the government and people of Kogi State,” he said.
