RIYADH – Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), announced on Wednesday that the first phase of real estate assets in Diriyah will open on November 28, 2022.

Speaking at a session of the sixth edition of Future Investment Initiative (FII6), Inzerillo said the UNESCO World Heritage Site Diriyah will be open to the public in a grand way, with entry for all. All Saudis can see their birthplace and everyone from the Gulf States can come. “We are ready to welcome people in 2022 and their presence will be huge in 2023,” he said.

Inzerillo said it reflects national identity and the sense of pride in who you are as a Saudi, which emanates from Diriyah. He noted that the footprint of the site is quite large. “If you just walk around Turaif, it will take you six hours. Now we have a whole area of Turaif recreating Saudi life in the first Saudi state; the second Saudi state and the third Saudi state. So interactively we have hundreds of Saudis in customs, it will come to life theatrically.

He said the DGDA had planted six million trees using the new sustainable technology in a beautiful three kilometer area. “We opened a community center and several restaurants. In 2023, we will open the first hotel out of 38 hotels and our first museum as well.

Historic Diriyah -Future Diriyah Boulevard better customer experience

The head of the DGDA said that the crown prince had the idea of connecting the rich and authentic cultural heritage of Saudis past and present with the future. This will allow a new boulevard, which we have already started to build. The Crown Prince said: ‘I would like to have authentic praise but not copy ChampionsElysees in Paris.

Inzerillo continued: “I responded to the crown prince saying it’s interesting, let’s measure it with ChampionsElysees. Our boulevard will connect Historic Diriyah and Future Diriyah over a length of 1.9 km.

He said the boulevard will provide a better customer experience. “For those investing in Diriyah Gate Two and Diriyah Gate Three zones, we are setting up a performance zone of 20,000 spaces. The boulevard would include the opera house, the convention center, the spectacular Museum of Contemporary Art of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, fashion houses, cafes and art galleries, in addition to 20,000 residences,” a- he added.
