How to energize your congregation through community partnerships! – Episcopal News Service

Would you like to connect your congregation more deeply to your neighborhood? Has the Holy Spirit called you to do more than your current resources allow? As part of our 1730 project focused on small congregations (but open to everyone!), TryTank invites you to participate in two practical webinars that will show you, step-by-step, how you can energize your congregation through community partnerships.

Both 90-minute webinars will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. EST.

Webinar #1 June 2: Connect with Your Neighborhood Through Community Listening

Listening to people in the neighborhood around the church is vital to sharing God’s love with the community. Get to know your church neighbors better while learning about your area’s strengths, needs, and dreams. A process of listening reveals where God is already at work, connects with people and organizations already involved in the neighborhood, and often leads to “ahas!” prospects for more strategic community ministry. This webinar will outline basic listening activities and outline practical steps for a rewarding listening process, including developing an effective listening team.

Webinar #2 June 9: The Power of Community Partnerships

Good ideas for community ministry can often be best implemented by partnering with others, such as schools, other churches, nonprofits, and businesses. Pooling resources and ideas with a partner can help the church have a greater impact on the many issues facing our communities. This webinar will share many examples of successful partnerships and strategies to make partnerships work. Participants will take away specific ideas for identifying partners in their own communities as well as the first steps towards establishing a partnership relationship.

Your single registration gives you access to both webinars. If you can’t make either webinar, register anyway so you can get the recordings (in video and audio form) to engage on your schedule.
