Indo-Pacific Partnerships on Marine Ecology under AIIPOIP

AIIPOIP is a practical initiative under the Australia-India Joint Declaration on a Shared Vision for Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, under the Australia-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership announced at the Virtual Leaders Summit on June 4 2020. The project will advance the objectives of India’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI), in particular the marine ecology pillar which is co-led by Australia.

The “Indo-Pacific Partnerships in Marine Ecology” project will further strengthen ties between India, Australia and Pacific Island countries and create new networks and connections that will benefit industry and society in general in the regions.

Project activities will be organized by FICCI in partnership with Sothern Cross University and the Pacific Islands Development Forum with support from DFAT.

Recently, FICCI, with the support of its partners, had organized a seminar on “raising awareness to prevent marine litter and plastic pollution in the ecosystem” between India, Australia and Pacific Island countries in May 2022. As part of the project, FICCI would now be organizing a series of 3 Masterclasses focusing on plastic waste management.
