FM Sitharaman to attend Nagaland CSR & Investment Conclave

Union Finance and General Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will honor the Nagaland CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) & Investment Conclave in Kohima on July 4-5 under the theme “Partnerships to Enhance Sustainable Development.”
The two-day conclave will see the presence of many companies, investors and bankers from across the country.
It will be held under the aegis of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Informing this at a press conference here today, IDAN Managing Director (CEO), Alemtemshi Jamir said that while CSR is a central government enactment directing all companies with a net worth of Rs 500 crore and above and turnover of Rs 1000 crore and above should reserve 2% of their profits for CSR activities.
He said Nagaland didn’t get their share because “we only get 0.006%”.
The conclave is primarily aimed at showcasing CSR investments in Nagaland, as well as for NGOs and local entrepreneurs in the state to interact with investors. About 20 state NGOs with CSR registration and also meeting CSR investment criteria will attend the conclave, he said.
About 50 to 60 CEOs representing major companies across the country would also join the conclave, he said.
The Conclave will talk about business and social investment opportunities, business, economic and social environment, CSR experience in Nagaland, industry perspective.
It will also see the launch and announcement of the one-stop-shop system, the policy brief on female entrepreneurship, the launch of initiatives under the Foreign Aid Program – Nagaland Health Program and NECTAR, the CRS Statement of Commitment, Interaction with CSR Implementing Agencies, Industry Development Roadmap. in Nagaland, Small Scale Industry in Nagaland, etc., and release of Nagaland Opportunities Abound.
The July 4 inaugural session was set for 4:00 p.m. at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima.
The Credit Awareness Program and the launch of new programs and programs will take place on July 5 at the NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima at 10:30 a.m.
