“We are thrilled to have Poppy join our growing ‘Doves’ team here in Australia,” said Dovetail co-founder Nick Frandsen.

“Poppy’s experience in the startup ecosystem is exactly what we need in our journey to find quality founders who are passionate about building their own startups. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Poppy to the team.”

Trewhella joins Dovetail from Startup Victoria, where she worked as Director of Programs and Partnerships.

Previously, she worked as a consultant and contractor for various companies and startups, and in the UK as Commercial Manager at businessthreezero, Head of Strategy and Development at Beyond Food CIC and Head of Development at Brightside.

Trewhella holds a first in sociology from the University of Bristol (UK).

“I’ve watched Dovetail’s success over the past few years and I’m so excited to be a part of the team,” she said.

“Technical capability is one of the biggest challenges I’ve seen founders struggle with. It’s no secret that hiring tech talent is a nightmare, and it’s been frustrating to see non-technical founders getting stuck in the early stages of building their startups. There’s so much potential to unlock in the Australian and New Zealand startup scene, and it feels like we’re only at the start.”
