ZUBI’S certified by the National Council of Women’s Business Enterprises

ZUBI’S, a food company founded by an El Pasoan native, announced Wednesday its national certification as a women’s business enterprise by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBENC).

WBENC officials say their certification standard, as implemented by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest, is a meticulous process that includes a thorough business review and site inspection.

The certification process is designed to confirm that the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more women.

“We always say ZUBI’S is for everyone – and it doesn’t stop with the salsa and dips we produce,” says Sarah Zubiate, Founder and CEO of ZUBI’S.

Zubiate wanted to provide her family with healthier, Latin-inspired alternatives, so she created her signature salsa based on her 60-year-old mother’s recipe.

After finding success with her family and friends, she launched ZUBI’S to retailers in 2017.

“Our team remains committed to giving women a place at the table as leaders, and we’re proud to represent the women-owned business community and inspire aspiring women entrepreneurs with our WBENC certification.”

“By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, companies and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs,” WBENC officials added.
